Surely vast majority of people have heard about Bitcoin for now, while the Dogecoin still remains unknown to many. Yet, according to the statistics, Dogecoin gains popularity much faster than the competing Bitcoin. It seems that Dogecoing is slowly becoming the easiest educational tool in cryptography, the area, which tend to be very frustrating for an average person. Dogecoin provides an easy manual that allows you to use your learning skills in practice.
The system is new; it was launched back in December and is already winning in the amount of transactions with Bitcoin. Meanwhile, Bitcoiners will argue that Dogecoins transactions are irrelevant, as it is merely an individual transactions, that are not worth more than a couple of pennies. That is partly true, but for now the 44 billion DOGE is being moved between the growing amount of users.

What is more important than that is that Dogecoin has attracted completely new and diverse group of users in the area that was previously dominated by hackers. Interesting enough, the group has a significant amount of females.
It seems that Dogecoin, regardless of disputes, has made an enormous step: it attracted new users, made them send cash online and managed to explain the whole process as easy and fun.
